Everything you need to know about freight shipping with Trust Haulers in Calgary, Alberta — from pricing and transit times to cargo insurance and cross-border customs procedures.
General
What services does Trust Haulers offer?
We provide four core trucking services: Full Truckload (FTL) for dedicated truck shipments, Less Than Truckload (LTL) for smaller shipments that share truck space, Cross-Border freight between Canada and the USA, and Flatbed trucking for oversized loads, heavy equipment, and construction materials. All services operate out of our Calgary headquarters.
What areas do you serve?
We serve all of Alberta (Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and surrounding areas), Western Canada, and cross-border routes throughout the United States. Our FMCSA and DOT certifications give us full operating authority across North America.
How do I get a freight quote?
You can request a quote by calling us at (825) 995-5246, emailing info@trusthl.com, or filling out the form on our contact page. We'll need your pickup location, destination, freight details (weight, dimensions, commodity), and preferred timeline. Most quotes are returned within a few hours.
What are your business hours?
Our office is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Our dispatch team is available during these hours for pickups, tracking updates, and support. For urgent matters outside these hours, call our main line and follow the prompts.
Shipping & Delivery
How long does shipping take?
Transit times depend on the service type and destination. For FTL: within Alberta 1 day, to Vancouver 1-2 days, to Toronto 3-4 days. LTL takes 1-2 days longer due to consolidation. Cross-border shipments to the northern US states take 1-2 days, with more distant destinations taking 3-5 days. We provide specific transit time estimates with every quote.
Can I track my shipment?
Yes. Every shipment is tracked via GPS throughout transit. We provide tracking updates and you can contact your account manager or our dispatch team anytime for a real-time status update on your freight.
What happens if my delivery is late?
We maintain a 99.5% on-time delivery rate, but when delays occur (weather, road closures, mechanical issues), we communicate proactively. You'll be notified as soon as we know about any potential delay, along with an updated ETA. We don't wait for you to call us — we call you first.
Do you offer same-day or expedited shipping?
Yes, we offer same-day pickup and expedited delivery options for time-critical freight. Expedited service uses dedicated trucks with team drivers when needed to minimize transit time. Contact us directly to discuss expedited options and pricing for your specific lane.
Pricing & Payment
How is freight pricing determined?
Pricing depends on several factors: distance and route, freight weight and dimensions, service type (FTL, LTL, flatbed), equipment requirements, and seasonal demand. For LTL, freight class (based on density and handling) also affects the rate. We provide all-inclusive quotes — the price we quote is the price you pay, with no hidden surcharges.
Do you charge fuel surcharges?
Fuel costs are factored into our quoted rates. We don't add separate fuel surcharges after the fact. When you receive a quote from Trust Haulers, that's your total cost. We believe in transparent pricing — no surprises on the invoice.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payment by cheque, wire transfer, and electronic funds transfer (EFT). For regular shippers, we offer net-30 credit terms upon credit approval. Contact us to set up a credit account for your business.
Insurance & Safety
What insurance coverage do you carry?
We carry $2 million in cargo insurance and full liability coverage on every shipment. This covers loss or damage to your freight from pickup to delivery. For shipments with special value requirements, additional coverage can be arranged — just let us know when requesting your quote.
What safety certifications do you hold?
Trust Haulers holds DOT (US Department of Transportation) certification, FMCSA registration, C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) certification, EPA SmartWay partnership, CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration) certification, and PIP (Partners in Protection) membership. These certifications demonstrate our commitment to safety, security, and environmental responsibility.
How do you handle freight claims?
If freight is damaged or lost, contact us immediately and we'll initiate the claims process. We document the condition of all freight at pickup and delivery. Claims are processed promptly with our insurance carrier. We work directly with you to resolve claims as quickly as possible — typically within 30 days.
Cross-Border Specific
What documents do I need for cross-border shipping?
Cross-border freight requires a commercial invoice, bill of lading, packing list, and customs declaration. Depending on the goods, you may also need CUSMA certificates of origin, import/export permits, and regulatory compliance documentation. We prepare and review all documentation for you — just provide your commercial invoice and we handle the rest.
Will my shipment be delayed at the border?
Our C-TPAT certification and FAST-approved drivers significantly reduce border processing times. C-TPAT carriers receive fewer inspections and priority processing, while FAST cards allow our drivers to use dedicated expedited lanes. Most of our cross-border shipments clear customs within hours, not days. We also use electronic pre-clearance (ACE/ACI) to submit documentation before the truck arrives at the border.
Do you handle customs brokerage?
We coordinate with licensed customs brokers on both sides of the border to handle clearance. We prepare the documentation, submit electronic filings, and work with brokers to ensure your freight clears smoothly. You don't need to arrange your own broker — we manage the entire process.
